In February 2021, The Red Door opened its doors on the golden sands of Tamarindo Beach with one clear mission: to bring together Costa Rican warmth, ocean-fresh ingredients, and world-class culinary techniques in a incredible beachfront destination. From day one, our founders—hospitality veterans who fell in love with Guanacaste’s surf culture—have championed:
- Sustainable sourcing, partnering with local fishermen and farmers to ensure every plate reflects the flavor of place.
- Community engagement, hiring and training Tamarindo locals, and giving back through beach clean-ups and charity dinners.

Our name pays homage to that bright red door you pass on the sand—an invitation to step inside, slow down, and savor life’s simple pleasures.
